When relocating to a different city don't forget about your banking arrangements. You may have accounts in your old city that you need to close out and certainly you'll want to get some cash or traveller's checks for the road.

Don't do like some people do. Some people hit the road expecting to use their credit cards and ATM cards for all expenses. Then if they lose the cards they have no way to get cash or pay for lodging. Its best to have both cards and some traveller's checks.

And don't forget about the mail, either. Go down to the local post office and request a change of address form. Fill it out and leave it at the post office. Once you do that your mail will be forwarded to your new residence.
