When you arrive at your new city plan a trip down to the Chamber of Commerce. Many Chambers have relocation packets that they gladly dispense to newcomers to the city. In the packed you'll likely find discount coupons for meals and other goods and services.

The Chambers usually have information about the school system as well. Request a package on the school system if there is one available.

Often the Chambers will have a package of material that will allow you to familiarize yourself with area churches and places of worship. That's nice because you will get street addresses and phone numbers that will help orient you in your new city.
