Want to hear a relocation horror story? Here's a good one. And its a true story, though the names are changed here to protect the people involved from embarrasment. Sam and Sue were relocating from Washington, DC to Los Angeles, CA so Sam could take a new job. Being frugal they conducted an extensive bidding market to find the rock bottom price. After all, moving cross country from Washington to Los Angeles isn't cheap. They finally decided on a moving company and soon the great move was underway. It came as a real surprise when 4 days later Sam got a call on his cell phone from his moving company. The company said it had made an error in bidding on the move and it was going to cost more than $1,000 more than they had quoted. Sam reminded them that a bid was a bid. The company reminded Sam that they had all his personal possessions and his furniture and they weren't going to deliver them until they had cash in hand. Sam fell for the old moving company blackmail scam. He should have carefully checked out his moving company from references and the Better Business Bureau. He didn't and it cost him dearly. Don't make the same mistake. Now you know what to do.
